Report

Three High Schools with Irish Connections have become National Football Champions (American Football) in USA in the last 20 years. In 2004 Colerain Cardinals, from Colerain, Cincinnati, Ohio, named after the town of Coleraine in Co. Derry, Ireland, were National Champions, and the two following years, 2005 and 2006, Carroll Dragons from Southlake in Texas, were Champions, with Carroll being an Irish surname from the Co. Louth area. Bishop Gorman High School, which proudly declares itself the home of the Gaels in Las Vegas, Nevada, and also proudly the oldest Catholic High School in the entire state, won the National Championship in 2016.
